Eat. Drink. Read. Think.

Celebrating the Local Food Culture of National Capital Region, Prince Edward County and Eastern Ontario.

Edible OTTAWA celebrates local food culture season by season, community by community. We focus on the people – the farmers who live and work the land, and the chefs, vintners and food artisans showcase our local offerings. We give voice to local food inspirations, trends, controversies, and challenges. We offer rare access to the most influential and interested food and drink enthusiasts, all the while creating an authentic, vivid, enticing and enriching culinary experience.

Ottawa and the surrounding region’s agricultural roots are giving way to a burgeoning food scene that can’t be ignored. We are a mix of urban and rural, and are experiencing a groundswell of attention for our growing local food community, making us one of North America’s emerging food destinations for farm-to-fork dining.

Our mission is to be the community resource that connects the dots of seasonal, locally grown foods. A place to get to know our local farmers and artisans, and learning more about what our region has to offer in the way of great dining, delicious day trips, vintners, distillers, brewers, food events and festivals. We want to tell the stories behind food and drink that so many of us take for granted.

We believe that knowing where your food comes from is a powerful thing. Every two months we serve up profiles, features, and recipes that illuminate the season and people who work so hard to bring this bounty to our tables. Throughout the magazine we include the artistry of local food through stunning photography and illustrations. Edible Ottawa is a feast for the eyes, the intellect and the palate.

Edible Ottawa is a free publication distributed at quality grocery stores, specialty food stores, farmers’markets, and retail venues that share our values. We cover the National Capital Region, Prince Edward County and Eastern Ontario.
